The Moment In Time Festival
The Moment In Time Festival, held in New York, is a celebration of the cultural heritage of the African diaspora through the arts. The festival began in 1984 as a multi-media family festival, and has evolved over the years into a tribute to a cultural hero with a program that celebrates his/her contributions to the community. Each yearly event honors the life of a member of our wide cultural community who has gone on to join the ancestors, through a multidisciplinary celebration of African arts. Past honorees have included Mongo Santamaria (Cuba), Leopold Senghor (Senegal), Ronald Balogun Love (USA), Papa Ladji Camara (Guinea), Orlando "Puntilla" Rios (Cuba), Fela Anikulapo Kuti and Funmilayo Anikulapo Kuti (Nigeria), Baba Olukose Wiles and Baba Kwami Ishangi (USA), the Obalesu of Nigeria, and Maguette Fall (Senegal). The festival is designed to promote global peace and understanding, It includes folkloric and arts expressions within a thematic framework of peace and unity. More info...
Oceans of Rhythm Festival
Oceans of Rhythm Festival, held in Long Branch, New Jersey, is designed to bring diverse sections of the community together, for a family oriented, educational and recreational, multi-media festival that will expand and broaden the experiences of all participants. It remains a primary example of ZEYBRAH's efforts to create vehicles for positive community growth and development.
The yearly festival is a cultural tapestry, woven with positive energy, exciting music and dance, traditional cultural expressions, and the dynamism of nature, especially the ocean.
